Artificial Intelligence for Space Startups and Businesses

UMNAI’s co-founder Angelo Dalli is holding a series of AI deeptech workshops on applying AI within space applications, aimed at startups and businesses looking to enter into space applications. Held as part of the ESA and EBAN Space Academy, various presentations in France, Italy and Germany will be held as an online series with live audience participation.

Angelo explores the long history of AI advances in space, which is still gaining a foothold as AI capabilities become more advanced. Looking at different applications, including remote control, remote assistance, maintenance, hardened hardware, ground control applications, spacecraft operations, in-space processing and the ever growing opportunities for AI in space, the workshop offers a comprehensive 360 degree look at how deeptech is changing space exploration and commercial applications. An in-depth dive into autonomous terrain tracking and sampling is complimented by an explanation of how UMNAI’s Neuro-Symbolic explainable AI models can be used to provide realtime assistance where communication delays are crucial, and where resource constraints constrict the variety and type of AI models that can be deployed. A brief overview of how transparent white-box AI models can achieve power and resource optimization without compromising performance rounds off the workshop.

Held in conjunction with 111 Holdings, the European Space Agency (ESA), and the European Business Angel Network (EBAN).
